John Deere 1650
The John Deere 1650 is a mid sized tractor. While it’s shipping weight comes in at 2100 kg (4630 lbs) for the 2WD version, it’s operating weight is 2426 kg (5350 lbs) when it’s fully fueled and oiled. However, with the addition of ballast, it’s maximum safe operating weight comes to 3531 kg (7785 lbs). The wheelbase of the tractor is nothing out of the ordinary, coming in at 2.1 m (82.8 inches). The wheels are also fairly standard. The front wheels on the JD 1650 each measure 6.5-16 (6.5 inch width, 16 inch rim diameter), while the rear wheels measure 16.9-28 (16.9 inch width, 28 inch rim diameter).
The engine that powers the John Deere 1650 tractor is a turbocharged diesel from Yanmar. This engine is a 4 cylinder. It uses a dual paper element air filter to catch the dust and particulate matter that would otherwise get sucked into the air intake and enter the engine where it has the potential to damage it. The engine is liquid cooled by a system that holds up to 10.5 liters of water. The engine is quite efficient, burning through just 12.6 liters/hour (3.4 US gallons per hour). The engine fires at a compression ratio of 18 to 1 and has a total displacement of 3.1 liters. The lubrication system in the engine holds up to 12 liters of motor oil.
Power from the engine on the John Deere 1650 tractor reaches the wheels thanks to a sliding gear transmission. This gearbox gives the operator a range of 9 gears going forward, but only 3 for reversing. The top speed of the tractor when traveling forward is 25.6 kph (15.9 mph). Unfortunately the JD 1650 does not come with a cab as standard, it just has a roll bar. Although you will notice that a few of the machines have had improvised cabs built on them.
