Toro Z Master Z453
The Toro Z Master Z453 zero turn lawn mower is one of the many machines in the Z Master series. The Z 453 comes with a choice of 2 different mower decks. The smaller deck has a cutting width of 48 inches, while the larger deck has a cutting width of 52 inches. There is only one engine choice. This is a twin cylinder Kawasaki. This Kawasaki engine has overhead valves and uses a fully pressurized lubrication system to keep the engine working properly. The engine powers the rear wheels on the Z453 through a dual hydrostatic transmission system that utilizes Hydro-Gear pumps and wheels motors.
The rear wheels on the Toro Z Master Z453 lawnmower carry the vast majority of it’s weight. This is why they are so large, measuring 23×9.5-12 (23 inch diameter, 9.5 inch width, 12 inch rim diameter), while the front castor, semi pneumatic wheels carry comparatively less. As a result, the front wheels are much smaller, measuring just 13×5-6 (13 inch diameter, 5 inch width, 6 inch rim diameter). The front wheels are also bald as they don’t need to provide any traction whatsoever. The top speed of the Z453 lawn mower comes in at 13.7 kph (8.5 mph) going forwards while in reverse, it’s top speed is 7.9 kph (4.9 mph).
The engine on the Toro Z Master Z453 lawnmower also powers the mower deck through a Aramid fiber V-belt. The blades are made from 1/4 inch thick, heat treated steel. The deck can be raised and lowered from a high of 4.5 inches down to a low of 1.5 inches above the ground. Attached to the side of the mower deck is a rubber discharge flap that prevents the discharged grass from flying everywhere. If you are interested in a more powerful zero turn mower in the Z Master series, then you might be interested in either the Toro Z Master Z528 or the Toro Z Master Z558 lawnmowers.
