Husqvarna RZ4619
The Husqvarna RZ4619 zero turn lawn mower is not the best known machine as it is quite similar to both the Husqvarna RZ4623 and the Husqvarna RZ4621 zero turn lawn mowers. All 3 lawnmowers have the same 46 inch mower deck, however the RZ 4619 is the least powerful machine of the 3 machines. The engine that powers the wheels and the mower deck on the RZ4619 is a Professional Series from Briggs and Stratton. This engine uses a standard type air filter to cleanse the air intake of small particles which have the potential to clog the combustion chambers and disrupt the combustion process. The engine is key started using a 12 volt battery. Once the engine is running, a 16 amp alternator is used to recharge it.
The engine transfers power to the blades on the mower deck of the Husqvarna RZ4619 through a belt drive system which is engaged using an electric clutch. The 46 inch mower deck houses 2 blades. This deck cuts grass as low as 1.5 inches above the ground and as high as 4.5 inches above the ground over a 3 inch cutting range. The deck discharges the grass out the ride hand side as standard.
The engine also powers the wheels on the Husqvarna RZ4619. Specifically it powers only the rear wheels, which measure 18×8.5-8 (18 inch diameter, 8.5 inch width, 8 inch rim diameter). These rear wheels have a turf thread that handily grips the lawn as they travel over it, without the problem of potentially cutting it up if it’s wet or damp. The front wheels are smooth as these don’t need to grip the grass, they simply need to travel smoothly over the lawn and provide as little friction as possible so that the rear wheels can easily turn the RZ 4619 in different directions. While this machine has gone through 9 mowing seasons, and has been maticulously maitained and stored, I am dissappointed that I can’t keep the mowing deck belt from being thrown when engaging the electronic clutc, and given changing oil whenever needed, now burns oil as noted above. Wouldn’t buy another one, and will be in the market for a new one soon. Granted, I have been able to nurse this along for 9 seasons.
I LOVE my machine! I had a regular riding mower before this and my mow time is about 1/2 as long now. I still use my old mower at the beginning and end of each season (as a vacuum because it has a grass catcher.) I let my mulched grass fall all season as I like it to re-feed the lawn.
My belt looks as if it is about to break and I have 192.9 hrs on it. I thought that was reasonable.
I bought it years ago and have never had to take it in for repairs.
Runs like a charm Every Time!
repairs.
My experience has been good except for the problem with the deck
belt.
switch to engage the deck the whole mower jumps and the belt comes
off. I’m wondering if there’s a brake on the deck so it stops the blades
as soon as the switch is turned off and perhaps that brakes is not being
released when I pull up the switch to start the deck. If anyone has had a
similar problem and has an idea about the cause please let me know.
The belt frequently disengages. I cannot re-position the belt to engage the blades, so I frequently have return the mower for repair. Since I purchased the machine to mow grass, this makes the mower unacceptable.
With 19.5 HP you cannot travel at top speed through extremely tall grass. If you mow every 7-10 days in the spring this will not be an issue.
