This machine uses a Kawasaki twin cylinder engine that produces 17 hp, just like the Husqvarna WHF3617, except that it has a much wider cutting width of 52 inches. The engine transfers power to the wheels via a Kanzaki pump and Parker wheel motor system. This transmission system gives the WH 5217 a top speed of 9.7 kph (6 mph) when traveling forwards, while in reverse it can reach a top speed of 4.8 kph (3 mph).
