John Deere Z830A
The John Deere Z830A zero turn lawn mower gets it’s power from a Kawasaki FX751V gasoline engine. This Kawasaki engine has a total displacement of 0.852 liters from it’s 2 cylinders. The full pressure lubrication system has a maximum capacity to hold up to 1.9 liters of oil. The engine is prevented from overheating through an air cooling system. The fuel tank on the JD Z830A that feds the engine with gasoline has a total capacity to hold up to 43.5 liters (11.5 US gallons). The engine is started via a 12 volt battery that supplies the engine with 340 cold cranking amps. The engine has a 20 amp alternator attached which recharges the battery once it’s ticking over.
There are a number of different sized mower decks that are available with the John Deere Z830A when you are buying it brand new. The largest has a massive cutting width of 72 inches. Smaller than this is a deck with a cutting width of 60 inches. The smallest mowing deck available with the JD Z830A has a cutting width of just 54 inches. Please keep in mind that the 72 inch cutting deck won’t be able to handle heavy, long or wet grass as well as the 54 inch or 60 inch decks for simple reason that it’s bigger but it receives the same amount of power. All 3 decks have an operating height that ranges over 3.5 inches, from a high of 5 inches above the ground to a low of 1.5 inches.
All decks also have a number of anti scalping wheels attached which act to keep it constantly raised above the cutting surface without the risk of it catching and potentially marking the ground. All decks that are compatible with the John Deere Z830A zero turn mower are made from stamped 7 gauge steel and all discharge the grass out the side of the deck.

I cut 3 acres twice a week of thick Kentucky blue grass for the last 18 yrs.
Generally a strong mower . Dealer closing up shop caused me and friends to become semi-skilled JD mechanics . Don’t depend on web site for help . Numerous JD blogs out there for service advice . Expensive mower but its last longer than other models , including JD .
