Husqvarna produces and has previously produced a large range of garden tractor lawn mowers that are very similar to the  Husqvarna YTH2146XP garden tractor. Some of these models are the Husqvarna YTH21K46 as well as the Husqvarna 2146XLS garden tractor lawnmowers. The engine that powers the YTH 2146XP, which this review is all about is a two cylinder from Kawasaki. This engine has overhead valves and pumps out 21 horsepower. The operator controls how much power the rear wheels receive from the engine using a hydrostatic transmission. This is a Tuff Torq gearbox that makes the YTH2146XP an automatic.

The deck on the Husqvarna YTH2146XP has a cutting width that is 46 inches wide. The blades in this deck are belt driven. The deck is raised and lowered using a spring assisted hand lever. There are a total of 6 different operating heights that the mower deck works at. The highest is 3.5 inches above the ground and the lowest is an amazing 0.5 inches above the ground. Thankfully there are anti-scalping wheels on the  YTH 2146 XP which prevent the blades from catching the ground when the deck is lowered very close to the ground.

When you are using the Husqvarna YTH2146XP, you should strongly consider buying the rear bagger attachment so that you can collect the grass clippings as you work which will leave the lawn looking very neat and tidy. Another option for dealing with the cut grass clippings is to mulch them with an optional mulching plug. However, if you couldn’t be bothered with either then you should just discharge them out the side of the deck and leave them to rot on the grass (although this can make your lawn look awful). The YTH 2146XP is also compatible with a range of other implements like snow blowers, dethatchers and utility carts.
