The Husqvarna GTH225 garden tractor lawn mower is powered by a 22hp engine. This is a naturally aspirated engine that uses a fully pressurized lubrication system to make sure that it stays properly lubricated throughout operation. On the engine you will notice a paper type air filter which purifies the air intake of any possible impurities that have the potential to possibly clog the combustion chambers and reduce the performance of the engine. The maximum capacity of the fuel tank on the GTH 225 is 13.2 liters (3.5 US gallons) of gasoline. The 12 volt battery that is used to keystart the GTH225 provides 260 cold cranking amps and is charged using a 15 amp alternator once the engine is running.

Power from the engine is transferred to the rear wheels on the Husqvarna GTH225 through a hydrostatic transmission. This transmission makes the GTH 225 an automatic with no need for gear changing. The rear wheels are bigger than the front wheels as they carry most of the machine’s weight. The front wheels are smaller and are responsible for steering the lawn tractor.

The mower deck that comes with the Husqvarna GTH225 as standard has 3 blades. On the deck you will notice anti scalping wheels which work to prevent the deck and blades from accidentally cutting into the ground. This deck has 3 different options for dealing with the grass clippings. Obviously it can just discharge them out the side onto the grass. Unfortunately this can look very ugly, especially if there is a lot of grass clippings as they turn brown when they decompose. A better option is to mulch them so that they rapidly decompose and don’t sit on your lawn for too long. The third and last option is to collect the clippings in a rear bagger attachment and dispose of them away from your lawn.
