Craftsman PGT9000
The Craftsman PGT9000 garden tractor lawn mower is very similar to the Craftsman PGT9500 in many ways. The PGT 9000 is sometimes referred to as the Craftsman 28974 lawn tractor. They are both the same machine. The engine powering the PGT 9000 is a very powerful one. This is a Briggs and Stratton ELS model that has a total volume of 0.725 liters. The engine is started using a key start system and has 2 cylinders with cast iron liners. This Briggs and Stratton engine has a full pressure lubrication system. The paper air filter works to prevent all dust and other particulate matter from getting into the engine where it can clog it and potentially break it.
Power from the engine on the Craftsman PGT9000 gets transferred to the wheels using a hydrostatic transmission. This hydrostatic transmission is pedal operated and gives the lawnmower infinite speeds traveling forwards as well as when it’s reversing. Speed on the Craftsman 28974 tractor is controlled using disc brakes. The front axle on this lawnmower is made from cast iron which means that it’s highly unlikely to ever break or get damaged even if you crash it while traveling at high speeds.
The mower deck on the Craftsman PGT9000 garden tractor lawnmower has 3 blades which give it a total cutting width of 54 inches. The deck is made from 10 gauge steel so that it is incredibly unlikely to bend, brake or crack even after very heavy knocks and hits. The deck has 4 anti scalping wheels which prevent the blades from catching the ground. The mower deck can be raised and lowered from a height of 4 inches down to a low of 1.5 inches above the ground. The lawnmower frame and cast iron axle come with a 5 year guarantee while the rest of the lawnmower has a 2 year warranty.
