The John Deere 430 is the name that instantly strikes the chord of our minds whenever we talk about farming tractors. John Deere has been able to craft a great impact in the world of tractor manufacturing, with most of its models going on to become great tractors.

The JD 430 first came into existence in 1958. The entire production was carried out in the United States. One of the highlights of this model was its availability in a range of sub models. Crawler, standard, utility, high crop and low crop are all versions of this model.

The engine has been designed and manufactured by John Deere themselves instead of using an outside company. It has a 27.1 HP engine. The fuel capacity is on the higher side and exceeds 40 liters. The 4 valve, 2 cylinder engine runs on gasoline. It has got a coolant capacity of 10.4 liters and oil capacity of 4.7 liters.

The John Deere 430 consists of 1 reverse gear and 4 front gears. It has got an unsynchronized  gear box.

The John Deere 430 weighs 3250 lbs. This model was one of the lightest in terms of weight, taking into consideration most of the farming tractors which were manufactured during the late 1950s and early 1960s. This aspect definitely provided this tractor with an edge as compared to others. It has a wheelbase of 85 inches. One of the customer drawing aspects of this model was its length, which was an amazing 136.1 inches. It has got a 21 inch ground clearance. This enables the user to make use of this model in rocky terrain as well.
