Poulan Pro PB22H46YT
The Poulan Pro PB22H46YT garden tractor lawn mower is powered by a 22 hp Briggs and Stratton Intek engine. This engine is a 2 cylinder model that is unfortunately not CARB compliant and therefore not for sale in California. The 4 stroke engine is key started using a 12 volt battery. The PB22H46YT’s fuel tank is capable of holding up to 11.4 liters (3 US gallons) of gasoline. Power from the engine gets to the rear wheels through a hydrostatic transmission which makes the lawnmower an automatic with just foot pedals (no gears) for changing your speed. The hydrostatic transmission gives the lawnmower a top speed of 8.9 kph (5.5 mph) going forwards, while in reverse it’s max speed is 4 kph (2.5 mph).
The mower deck on the Poulan Pro PB22H46YT is 46 inches wide, which is hopefully obvious from the name of the lawnmower. This mower deck houses 2 blades and you will notice small antiscalping wheels on the leading edge of the deck which work to keep the mower deck constantly elevated above your lawn which prevents it from scraping it and potentially leaving unsightly scars. The mower deck is made from stamped steel. It can be raised as high as 4.5 inches from the ground down to a low of 1.5 inches above the ground. Similar models to the Pro PB22H 46YT are the Poulan PO12530LT and the Poulan PO19542LT tractor mowers, while they are slightly less powerful.
The mower deck on the Poulan Pro PB22H46YT tractor lawn mower is engaged with a PTO lever and is belt driven. For dealing with the grass clippings, many people simply discharge them onto the lawn they are cutting, although this sometimes looks a little unsightly and messy. You can optionally collect them using a bagger attachment instead, although this needs to be constantly emptied. The third option is to use a mulching plug to turn the clippings into a mulch.
