Massey Ferguson 2927H
The Massey Ferguson 2927H is the other machine in the MF2900 series. The second model in the series, that has a similar power is the Massey Ferguson 2927LC garden tractor lawn mower. The MF 2917 H lawnmower gets it’s power from a Command gasoline engine that is designed and built by Kohler. This is a twin cylinder motor that is keystarted using a 12 volt battery. The engine produces 27 hp to power both the wheels and the mower deck.
There is a choice of mower decks available for the Massey Ferguson 2927H. The smallest has a cutting width of 48 inches, while the largest has a cutting width of 60 inches (although this mower deck is more likely to stall when cutting very wet or long grass). The mid sized mower deck has a cutting width of 54 inches. As the plastic deflector chute is located on the side of the mower deck, it adds roughly 12 inches to the total width of each of the 3 mower decks. All mower decks on the MF2917 H consist of 3 small blades working together. The deck can be lowered down to just 1 inch above the ground and raised up to 5 inches above the ground. Between these 2 extremities, it has infinite cutting heights.
The Massey Ferguson 2927H garden tractor lawnmower is an automatic thanks to the fact that is uses a K-92 hydrostatic transmission. This transmission gives the lawnmower infinite speeds traveling forwards as well as in reverse. The K-92 transmission makes the MF2927H very quick, giving it a max speed of 14.5 kph (9 mph) traveling forwards, while in reverse it has a top speed of 8.9 kph (5.5 mph). This lawnmower is built on a 2WD chassis and uses a differential lock which allows it to have a very tight minimum turning radius of just 0.7 m, despite it’s size (2.05 m long) and weight (535 kg/1180 lbs).
