The Snapper LT2342 garden tractor lawnmower is part of the Snapper LT125 series of ride on lawn mowers that also includes the Snapper LT2446. The LT 2342 gets it’s power from a Briggs & Stratton Extended Life Series 2 cylinder overhead valve engine. This engine is started with the help of a 12 volt battery that produces 230 cold cranking amps. The power output from the engine is 23 hp. The fuel tank on this model can hold up to 13.2 liters (3.5 US gallons) of gasoline. Power from the engine gets to the wheels by first passing through the T2 hydrostatic transmission that makes the lawnmower an automatic with no need to be constantly changing gears. Instead, if you want to speed up, you just need to press down on the accelerator a little harder.

The transmission on the Snapper LT2342 garden tractor lawn mower is built by Hydro-Gear and provides the machine with a top speed of 9 kph (5.6 mph) going forwards, while in reverse it has a top speed of 5.6 kph (3.5 mph). The mower deck on the LT 2342 has a cutting width of 42 inches, even though it’s total width comes to 52 inches due to the discharge flap located at the side of the mower deck. The deck houses 2 blades and can be moved from a low of 1.5 inches above the ground to a high of 4 inches above the ground in 0.5 inch increments.

The Snapper LT2342 is not a particularly big one. It’s total weight comes to 241.3 kg (532 lbs) and it has a wheelbase of 50 inches. The wheels themselves offer great traction without creating tracks. The rear wheels each measure 20×10-8 (20 inch diameter, 10 inch width, 8 inch rim diameter) while the front wheels each measure 15×6-6 (15 inch diameter, 6 inch width, 6 inch rim diameter).
