Simplicity Coronet

The Simplicity Coronet compact ride on lawn mower is far smaller than the likes of the Simplicity Broadmoor or the Simplicity Regent garden tractor lawnmowers. However it is still a quality piece of machinery. It’s an automatic thanks to it’s Hydro-Gear Hand Control, automatic transmission, which makes life easy using the Coronet as there is no gear changing. The transmission transfers power from the 13.5 hp one cylinder, Briggs & Stratton gasoline engine to the wheels. The engine is air cooled and allows the lawnmower to travel at up to 8 kph (5 mph). Even though the fuel tank can only hold (2 US gallons) of gasoline, this is still enough to power the engine for many hours continuously before it needs to be refilled.

The chassis on the Simplicity Coronet is constructed from 14 gauge steel which is strong enough to resist most serious bumps and bruises. As the rear tires carry most of the weight during operation, as well as provide traction, they measure 16×6.5-8 (16 inch diameter, 6.5 inch width, 8 inch rim diameter) while the front tires measure 13×5-6 (13 inch diameter, 5 inch width, 6 inch rim diameter). The Coronet is very useful in gardens that have many tight twists and awkward areas as it’s turning radius is incredibly low at 0.3 m (12 inches).

The mower deck on the Simplicity Coronet has a cutting width of just 30 inches (which is very small for sit on lawnmower). It has only one large blade. The mower deck can quickly be removed from the lawnmower thanks to a Quick Hitch removal system. All in all, this lawnmower is a very good ‘entry’ level ride on lawnmower that can cut the lawns of gardens that range in size from 0.5 to 3 acres. However if you have more grass to cut than this on a regular basis, you will find it much easier to do on a larger machine like a Simplicity Legacy XL or Simplicity Prestige.
