John Deere M-Gator A1
The John Deere M-Gator A1 is a powerful utility vehicle designed specifically for the military. This six wheel beast has been designed with function in mind and not necessarily to be the most visually beautiful machine JD has ever produced. The engine powering it is a 4 stroke Yanmar that produces 20.8 hp. This diesel powered, 3 cylinder engine uses a full pressure lubrication system to keep all the working parts of the engine from wearing excessively. The engine is liquid cooled via a dual radiator system that will prevent the engine from overheating in even the most dry/hot environments. The air intake uses a dry type, dual element air filter to prevent dust from entering the engine. The engine is fueled via a tank that can hold up to 20 liters (5.3 US gallons) of diesel.
Power is transferred to the wheels on the John Deere M-Gator A1 by a continuously variable transmission which gives the machine a top speed of 32 kph (20 mph) going forwards. The cargo box on the JD A1 M-Gator is constructed with 10 gauge steel and can hold up to 453.6 kg (1000 lbs). The machine has a towing capacity of 635 kg (1400 lbs) and it’s front rack has a capacity to hold up to 113.4 kg (250 lbs). This utility vehicle comes with a foldable roll bar (ROPS) which can quickly be lowered when the machine is being transported or stored.
Sitting in the JD M-Gator A1 is reasonably comfortable thanks to the high back seats which offer great lumbar support. The total length of the John Deere M-Gator A1 comes in at 2.74 m (108 inches) while it measures 1.52 m (60 inches) wide. There are a number of optional extra features that you can get for this machine that include a winch, light kit and a shade kit. All in all this is a quality vehicle which may not look like the most appealing machine you’ve ever seen as it has been specifically built for the military.
