    The Husqvarna MZ6128ZT zero turn lawn mower is one of the biggest lawnmowers available from Husqvarna. This machine has a mower deck with a 61 inch cutting width and is powered by a very big 0.81 liter Briggs & Stratton Endurance series engine that pumps out 28 hp. This twin cylinder engine is air cooled and uses a standard air filter to purify the air intake before allowing it into the combustion chamber. The engine transfers power to the rear wheels using a Hydro-Gear ZT 3400 hydrostatic transmission system that makes the MZ 6128ZT an automatic, but more importantly it allows the driver to use the 2 lap bars to control how much power each rear wheel receives. This ability to vary the power each rear wheel receives is what allows it to execute zero radius turns.

    One of the nice things about the Husqvarna MZ6128ZT zero turn lawnmower is that you have the option of attaching a large bagger (sold separately) to the back of the machine to capture all the grass clippings instead of just allowing them to rot on the grass. The actual mower deck itself is fabricated from strong 11 gauge steel and has a number of small plastic anti scalping wheels on the front to keep the deck from scratching the surface of the lawn when traveling over rough ground.

    While the Husqvarna MZ 6128 ZT is indeed a very big lawnmower, you may be on the lookout for something a bit smaller. If this is the case, then either the Husqvarna MZ5225T or the Husqvarna RZ3016 zero turn lawnmowers are worth looking into.       Excellent value. Replaced this over a $3000 Craftsman zero turn, the Husqvarna was $5000 and a huge value difference. Not a commercial mower but much better than a residential mower.

      Year of Manufacture: 2014
      Pros: Awesome mower for the money. I chose the Kawasaki engine. This IS actually a Dixon mower rebadged by Husqvarna. Excellent mid range ( homeowner and commercial quality ) mower. I upgraded the seat to a full suspension and added bar type tire ( less wheel spin ). Excellent cut.
      Cons: Deck spindles and shafts are light duty…watch for rocks or obstructions. Very easy to replace bent shafts or bearings. Factory puts very little grease…..grease well before mowing. Rigid frame ( non-pivoting front axle ) makes easy loss of traction on uneven ground. Hour meter only works when blades are engaged ( crazy idea by Husqvarna ). The mower can scalp when cutting ditches or slight short slopes; my thoughts are…the anti-scalp wheels are too far inward of the mower deck.
      Attachments: None
      Modifications: Bar tires by Kenda and slightly wider 22×11×10. Bobcat full suspension seat. Plan to add LED lighting. Amsoil.

      For the first required oil change the oil screw would not open. I took it to the dealer and they could not open it either (they said it was welded shut for some reason) so they replaced the entire hose from the motor block. Within 25 hours the mower just shut off by itself for no reason while mowing a field. This happened once but the mower started again. At about 77 hours the mower would be shut down after mowing and would not start again. It would just click. I bought a new battery and the battery kept losing power so I took it to the dealer again. They said that the motor was not totally anchored to the frame (torqued down) after they replaced the oil hose which caused a problem with the charging system and the ability to charge. The dealership replaced the charging system.

      Pros: It performs and manuevers very well on dry turf. The cutting radius is fairly large so it cuts down on cutting time. The machine is made out of heavy duty steel, which is good for commercial as well as residential use. The machine itself is quite heavy but easy to manuever. It performs well on flat and hilly terrain but not on uneven or bumpy terrain.
      Cons: It does not perform well on wet turf. It easily gets stuck in a muddy environment.

      Very enjoyable

      Year of Manufacture: 2010
      Pros: Great Mower and very efficient. Cut all my mowing time by two thirds.
      Has been trouble free for over 170 Hrs. till an Idler pulley went out.
      Cons: Need grease zerk for the Idler pulley for the hydraulic motors. There is a lot of tourque on this pulley and it must have gone bad awhile back but I did not hear any strange noise till it was too late. It is easily repaired and only cost $40.00 for the pulley.
      Modifications: Needs a grease zerk for the Hydro motor pulley bearing.
