Husqvarna RZ4216
The Husqvarna RZ4216 zero turn lawn mower is very similar to the Husqvarna RZ4222F zero turn lawnmower due to the fact that they both have the same sized mower deck of 42 inches. However it’s important to note that the Husqvarna RZ 4216 is a lot less powerful, 6 hp less powerful in fact. The engine powering it is a Briggs & Stratton Endurance series model. This air cooled, single cylinder motor has a displacement of 0.5 liters. The engine also has a 16 amp alternator built in to recharge the 12 volt battery that is used to start it.
Power from the engine on the Husqvarna RZ4216 zero turn mower is transferred to the wheels through a Hydro-Gear hydrostatic EZT transmission that makes the lawnmower an automatic. More importantly it allows the operator to turn the mower on a dime by allowing him to control the speeds of each rear wheel independently. This transmission gives the mower a top speed of 10.5 kph (6.5 mph) going forwards, while in reverse it has a top speed of 5.6 kph (3.5 mph), allowing it to cut up to 2.2 acres of lawn per hour.
Thanks to it’s 42 inch mower deck, the Husqvarna RZ4216 zero turn lawnmower weighs in at 195 kg (430 lbs). Even though it’s actually quite light for it’s size, it’s actually quite long, measuring 1.91 m (75 inches) in length, while it’s total width comes to 1.47 m (58 inches). This large width is mostly due to the large discharge chute. As this is a zero turn mower, most of the weight is concentrated on the rear wheels, while the only job of the font wheels is to balance the machine and prevent the mower deck from hitting the ground. Each front wheel measures just 11×4-5 (11 inch diameter, 4 inch width, 5 inch rim diameter) while each rear wheels is a lot bigger, measuring 18×7.5-8 (18 inch diameter, 7.5 inch width, 8 inch rim diameter.
