The Husqvarna YTH24V54XLS lawn mower is pretty much the biggest, baddest garden tractor that Husqvarna makes. This 24 hp, 54 inch lawnmower is often used by commercial contractors or gardeners that have a lot of work for the simple reason that it covers a wide area of grass relatively quickly while at the same time having a very small minimum turning radius of just 16 inches. The engine powering the Husqvarna YTH24V54XLS is from the FR series by Kawasaki. As previously mentioned it produces 24 hp from a displacement of 0.726 liters. The engine is key started using a 12 volt battery. This 12 V battery is then recharged through a 15 amp alternator once the engine is up and running. The engine then powers the mower deck which is made of up 2 Hi Performance blades which give the mower deck a cutting width of 54 inches. The mower deck can be raised or lowered from a high of 4 inches above the ground to a low of just 1.5 inches above the ground in 0.5 inch steps. This mower deck also has 4 small plastic wheels mounted at the front of the deck to prevent it from scraping the lawn you are cutting when the ground is uneven. Raising and lowering the mower deck is very easy thanks to the fender mounted lever. The mower deck is also spring assisted so it requires very little effort to actually raise and lower it.

The Husqvarna YTH24V54XLS is a very convenient and easy to use garden tractor lawnmower. However it’s only advisable to buy one if you own a large garden. If your garden is anything under 1.5 acres, then you should consider getting a smaller machine, otherwise it’s size will be wasted on your garden.
