John Deere LT155
The John Deere LT155 lawnmower is from the LT series of lawnmowers that JD produced during the late 90’s and early 00’s. It gets it’s power from a Kohler Command engine that is air cooled and has natural aspiration. This gasoline engine has one cylinder and produces a power output of 15 hp. To fully fill it with engine oil from empty, you need to add 1.8 liters of oil. Power from this Kohler engine is then passed to the wheels through a hydrostatic, Tuff Torq transmission that gives it unlimited speeds going forwards and in reverse. Speed and direction is controlled Twin Touch pedals (John Deere’s trademarked system).
If you are looking for a bigger model than the John Deere LT155, then you may be interested in checking out the John Deere LT166 lawnmower. However if it’s something smaller and less powerful that you need for your garden, then the John Deere LT133 ride on lawnmower might be of interest to you. Instead of using a steel hood, like you will see on may of the older models of John Deere lawnmower, the JD LT155 uses a hood made from Xenoy. This is a plastic like material that will not corrode nor will it dent or break easily.
For acutally cutting grass, the John Deere LT155 has a choice of mower decks. You can go with a smaller 38 inch deck or if you want something bigger, then you may like to use a 42 inch mowing deck instead. The total weight of the JD LT155 comes to 213 kg (470 lbs) when it’s fueled up and has it’s mower deck attached. However when it rolls off the production line it tips the scales at only 175 kg (388 lbs). This machine has quite a small turning radius of just 0.4 m (15 inches).
