John Deere X340
The John Deere X340 has the largest deck in the JD X300 series of lawnmowers. It measures in at 54 inches, making it bigger than the John Deere X360 and the John Deere X324 lawn mower. The JD X340 is powered by a Kawasaki, gasoline engine. It is the FH721V model and is a 2 cylinder. The size of the engine comes in at 0.7 liters and it is capable of producing 25 hp. It uses a 12 volt starting mechanism and it’s battery is charged by a 15 amp alternator. The engine sits on a 4×2 2WD chassis.
The John Deere X340 is built in JD’s Horicon facility, which is located in Wisconsin. The fuel capacity of the gas tank on the JD X340 comes to 13.2 liters (3.5 US gallons). This is enough to allow this ride on lawn mower many hours of continuous operation without needing to be refilled. You are able to purchase an optional vinyl ‘cab’ to protect the operator from the elements, but as you can obviously imagine, a vinyl cab is not nearly as good as having a solid one. So if you are operating this machine during the winter in very cold areas, you may find that you will get cold pretty quickly.
Without any attachments, the John Deere X340 weighs in at just 249 kg (551 lbs). However with fuel and the mower deck attached it tips the scales at 319 kg (704 lbs). The length of the JD X340 comes to 1.83 m (72 inches) while it has a maximum width of 1.72 m (68 inches) with the mower attached. When the mower is not attached, it’s width comes to just 0.98 m (38.5 inches). What many people like about this lawn mower is the fact that it has quite a small turning radius of just 16 inches, making it ideal for small garden with lots of small, hard-to-reach places.
